For many a year, Iowa has featured some tough early season racing aimed mostly at the road crowd. Some of these events are a mix of pavement and gravel, but one of these, the Colfax Iowa race, is 100% gravel. So, these have earned their rightful place on Gravel Grinder News.
These events occur throughout the Month of March and are USAC races sponsored by some of Iowa's finest bike shops. Check it out here.

Colfax is 100% gravel, Iowa City/Hills %59% gravel, and Grinnell is 79% gravel. Colfax is probably the easiest course then Iowa City, and Grinnell the toughest.
