Up in Wisconsin they are going to be doing a trail/gravel ride on April 24th-25th called the "Big Assed Long Loop Shindig", or "B.A.L.L.S." for short. They have announced registration and set a field limit of 50 riders, so get on over to their new site and check it out!
This is the third running of this event which is often marked by difficult weather and a whole lot of fun. Featuring 170 miles of trail and some roads over a two day period, the course is described in the following manner on the new site:
"As a generalization the course is flat. Very flat. Pancake flat. Never stop pedalling flat. The surface varies from nicely graded limestone rail-trail to rutted, breaker rock, mud and sand infested ATV trail. There are only about 7 miles of pavement total in the two days."
Lodging for the overnight halfway point is limited, and some trail pass fees will be necessary for any rider that wants to take part. See the B.A.L.L.S. site for fine details.
