| Come Burn With Me! |
The ride is typically done on rolling terrain in a "no rider left behind", group ride style.Despite the pretentious name, anyone that wants to come out and ride this event is welcomed, and there is no rider event fee. This is a fully self-supported ride where everyone is responsible for themselves. Stay tuned for more coming soon....

I'm curious what your definition of "no rider left behind" is. I have been on a lot of these type rides and someone always gets left behind. Some rider/s are too slow, can't handle the mileage or has a major mechanical and gets left behind... The ride leader/s always make sure they are as safe as can be, but the group moves on... I am all about self-supported, be prepared and fend for yourself rides.
@Spinner: Well, each ride has to be looked at in its own light, but as far as this ride, (which I put on, as you know), I always wait for riders, gather everyone back together when we get strung out, and make sure those that are done have a way back out. Thus- "No Rider Left Behind" to me means no one "gets dropped to fend for themselves".
I have had riders voluntarily take leave of the group on their own decision, but I would never knowingly just drop someone off the back and not try to keep the group together.
Hope that 'splains it" from my point of view.
Ah, Bastille Day!
GT, will you be riding By-Tor or the Snow Dog, to keep with this obviously Rush themed day? ;-)
@Exhausted_Auk: Well, you may remember that there was a Mukluk on last year's GTDRI, and a "psuedo-fat bike" was used in 2007 on that year's GTDRI, so it is not an unprecedented thing.
That said, there is a strong possibility that a certain titanium framed bike with a surprise on it may be showing up for this 2012 version. ;>)
